Why do I need to register to Comment?
Seeing a name gives us all an idea who is talking to who. Long threads with Anon debating with Anon are difficult to follow. Also, the trolls are easier to spot and avoid!

How do I need to register to Comment?
You may already have a Google, Yahoo! or other account which you can use. Otherwise just set one up.
For example, go to Google and choose "Sign In" in the top corner. Then follow the short instructions to set up an account. You only need a daft nickname and a working email address. Similarly, Yahoo has a "Sign Up" link, and so does JS-Kit on their homepage.

Can I change the name my Comments are posted under?
Click on the name "Guest" - you can overwrite it with a name of your choice. Or log in with a different account. You could create one specifically for Biased BBC if you wish.

There is a pause when I open up a page with Comments on it. Why?
The site has to ‘create’ the page each time you open it using information from several different sources, which creates a small delay. It will be more noticeable if you have a slower internet connection but will only be for a few seconds.

Can I comment from my mobile device?
The comments will display on mobile devices, but the comment box will only work on mobile browsers that are fully java-enabled. At the moment the majority of them aren't.

How can I contact Biased-BBC?
For most issues, contact the Editorial team via David Vance here
For technical issues contact AllSeeingEye here
I have a working ID but I can't log in. Help!
There can be a few reasons for this but to resolve the most common issues:
Cookies: In Firefox, check these settings:
Tools -> Options -> Privacy - Firefox Will (Use Custom Settings For History)
All ticked: Accept Cookies, Accept Third Party Cookies and Until They Expire.
JavaScript: In Firefox, check these settings:
Tools -> Options -> Content (Check Enable Java and Enable Javascript are ticked)
The same options are in an almost identical place in all later versions of IE.
Why do Comments say Delete or Flag underneath them?
You can Delete your own comments if you have changed your mind about them.
If a comment is abusive then please Flag it. Enough Flags (from different IP addresses) will alert a Moderator who can consider whether to take any action, including deletion if it breaks House Rules.
I want a link in my comment to look like this
rather http://looking_like_this.com
Type your comment as you want it to appear. Using the mouse and cursor, highlight a word in your comment and then click on the "link" button (a chain symbol) above the Comments box. Paste your link in there for everything to look smooth.
I've submitted a Comment but it hasn't appeared!
Did it have a swear word in it? It may be in a moderation queue awaiting approval for this or some other reason, so please be patient.
What’s coming in the future?
The developers of the Comments system, Echo, will be updating the Comments software to include a ‘Preview’ feature and when this version is released we will incorporate it on B-BBC. They are considering an Unread Comments display but this is not scheduled for imminent deployment.
